Mexico isn't the first county that springs to mind when you think of disco. But the scene is thriving. Labels like Electrique Music are taking influences from early NY house and artists like Rubinskee are pushing things forward.
Rubinskee style is like a raw slab of minimal disco-tech with elastic bass-lines that would make Waif & Strays proud, whilst deadly percussion mixed with bouncing obnoxious 80's snares and crazy delayed vocal snippets are part of his trade mark futuristic sound.
Mexico City clearly has plenty more tricks up its sleeve when it comes to new electronic music - and Rubinskee is something special.
His debut 'Sources' for Ism Records has already caused a serious online buzz and now with a full single package follows plus heavy dancefloor remixes from Dead Rose Music Company, Stupid Human, Bronx, Lovebites and one from the hottest artists on the Mexican scene Bufi.
