Lee Fields has amassed a prolific catalog of albums and has toured and played with such legends as Kool & the Gang, Sammy Gordon & The Hip-Huggers, and Little Royal. In his career of over 40 years, he released on several independent labels before he founded his own label, Angle 3 Records. Funky Screw was the a-side of his debut 45rpm single on Angle 3 backed with the equally good instrumental track The Bull Is Coming. The backing on both sides was provided by The Devil's Personal Band. No other name could describe their tight and superfunky sound better than this. Today, he collaborates with The Expressions (the house band of New York's Truth & Soul Records) which are the same individuals that wrote, produced, and played on Aloe Blacc's global smash hit I Need A Dollar. This 45rpm single re-issue is limited to 500 copies worldwide.
