Rock icon Peter Doherty & UK soul legend Omar are among 19 artists who have come together in an audacious bid to save a live music venue in Kentish Town by contributing exclusive tracks to album â??Raise the Barâ??. Local pub, The Torriano, a favorite meeting place for songsmiths, poets, writers, comedians and assorted creatives, has been under threat of the developerâ??s wrecking ball, for four years!
Raise The Bar is a unique collaboration of songs, featuring material from Peter Doherty as well as previously unreleased tracks from, Happy Mondays former guitarist and soloist KAV, Flamenco legend Jackson Scott & band Manos de Dios, festival favourite Dansette Junior and Ivor Novello award winner Peter Wolfe. All these and more have contributed to a stunning compilation of 19 tracks, mastered by Chris Brown, Abbey Road sound engineer for 10 years.
