Red Earth release two new cuts on the "We're Not Leaving" rhythm track that was first heard on the Soothsayers release in August 2011. The double A side release features two great Jamaican singers , Cornell Campbell a Studio 1 legend from the golden era of reggae and the dynamic contemporary roots voice of Lutan Fyah . Both tracks follow the "leaving" theme of the recent Soothsayers cut.
Something special needed Cornel to get back in the recording studio and this came in the form of a chance meeting with Soothsayers in Kingston, Jamaica early in 2011. They arranged a session at Bunny Lee's recording studio in West Kingston and in no time the collaboration produced the sweet "I'll Never Leave" cut, a homage to Cornell's island home country in Parish of St Elizabeth. Listening to the track it's clear that Campbell was inspired by Soothsayers organic and original sound. The dub version of this was released alongside Soothsayers "We're Not Leaving " in August 2011 and the Cornell Campbell version follows on 7" vinyl on October 1st 2011.
The prolific Lutan Fyah squeezed some time out of his international touring schedule after he heard the Soothsayers version of 'We're Not Leaving" . His vocal presents a more edgy stance on life in his home in Kingston and the problems of day to day living. Lutan's cut entitled "I'm Leaving" reminds us of how life in what may seem like an island paradise from afar can be too hard to take for many of the inhabitants.
