Building on the success of the CDR club nights burntprogress release their second album, continuing to spread the word and open ears to a new wave of audio artists.
2005 saw the premiere release for burntprogress as a label, bringing a vinyl EP (which speedily sold out!) and 15-track CD including songs by Aaron Jerome (now on BBE), Daisuke Tanabe, Richard Brown, Dobie and Soundspecies. This part of the process has become integral to burntprogress, as they act as mentors and label managers, providing a structure for music makers to have their work properly published. Since then the popularity of the clubnights has snowballed, leading to sessions in Paris, Berlin, Tel Aviv and Birmingham, plus special sessions at the Big Chill festival and London festivals.
For 2.1 Tony and Gavin have sifted through the oodles of songs in the burntprogress vaults, crafting an album which reflects the CDR clubnight ethos: mixing established pros with individuals who juggle day jobs with an unquashable desire for making music resulting in 27 tracks of truly original and banging electronic music. Boundary crossing and genre shattering, 2.1 is as eclectic as the CDR sessions, with an exploration of styles and tempos, chartering all manner of BPMs.
Having watched an idea grew from an idea to reality and now a blueprint for others, the burntprogress movement continues to grow. 2.1 astutely captures the array of talent currently on board making the music public.
