Robert Ellerby and Remko Schouten came together as Momma Gravy at the end of last year's summer. This followed their guest appearances on bass and keyboards for former Pavement drummer Steve West's Marble Valley. At the end of the UK tour Rob and Remko adjourned to the Dutchman's Amsterdam studio. First fruits of the collaboration was the 'Champagne at 6 Def EP ' released earlier this year on Pork. Now they bring us their debut album, completed over the Christmas and New Year period.
Rob is one half of the Bullitnuts who have already released three albums on Pork and remixed the likes of Richard Dorfmeister's Tosca, Natasha Atlas and Blue States. Remko has been Pavement's live sound engineer for the last seven years: radically differing backgrounds but when they get together these crazy fuckers gel like putty and glass.
