Advancing from the success of his well received Acrobotics EP (great reactions from Joey Negro, Unabombers, Simbad, Karen P and Ali Tillett amongst others) Joel Harrison continues to develop his take on techno infused deep house with his latest sonic offering: Future Revolutions EP.
First up comes Acid Boom with effected tabla percussion leading the way into a tough acid bassline, an irresistable kick/hat combination and continues to build with deep driving chords.
Second comes Technicalities, which moves into a more minimal soundscape with a bumping rubber-band bassline and filtered chord stabs. Clean production and a tight mix will make this a winner for deep house and techno headz alike.
Next up is The Future. A hipnotic mix of techno, boogie and nu-school house, this track features multiple synth layers and a nod to Kraftwerk with vocoded vocal phrases. The breakdown and drop on this track will ensure the floor gets a well deserved workout...
Finally, Seventy Seven melds a disco-tinged bassline with undulating synth washes, funked up stabs and soulfulsax. Sure to add a smooth dynamic to the more discerning deep house floors.
Joel's unique style of broken beats and house has brought him club and radio support from Gilles Peterson, IG Culture, Laurent Garnier, Alex Attias, LTJ Bukem, Pete Herbert, Francois Kervorkian, Unabombers and Simbad to name a few.
