An earlier, solo version of The Parting appeared on the album Toy Balloon. It became a much requested track when Bert toured in the late 80's and early 90's with Peter Kirtley.
The film ACOUSTIC ROUTES is an acclaimed and Bafta Nominated ("Best Arts Programme") BBC Documentary that tells the story of late and legendary guitarist and singer Bert Jansch, from his early days in Edinburgh, to Pentangle, to becoming the guitarist that everyone still wants to be, with two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Lifetime Achievement Awards, a Mojo Merit Award and a ranking in Rolling Stones' "Top 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list. ACOUSTIC ROUTES the soundtrack features original recordings from an all-star Folk line-up of Bert Jansch, Brownie McGhee, Davey Graham, Anne Briggs, Ralph McTell, Wizz Jones, Martin Carthy, Peter Kirtley, Jacqui McShee, Duck Baker, Al Stewart, and Billy Connolly.
