The All Good Funk Alliance have released several singles since 1997,
and have built a loyal following of people hungry for that organic
break-beat funk sound. From running their own label Funk Weapons, to
remixing Fort Knox Five, Ed Royal, Woody Herman, etc. the boys have
been around the block. Their sound has developed into many different
styles and have released up-tempo b-boy jams to hip hop as All Good
Funk Alliance, and house music as B-team. In 2004 we saw the release
of "On the One", a collection of past singles and new songs that was
released on the label Sunswept out of Florida.
"Social Comment" is their second album and is quite a departure from
the floor filling sound that AGFA normally releases on Funk Weapons.
They wanted something that was cohesive and good for listening in a
variety of situations, not just the club. To craft this sound they
contacted Swamburger and Alexandrah, whom they had used on the
previous album for the song "Where I need To Be". The boys created
several beats for Swam and Alex so they could have the freedom to do
whatever they wanted. The resulting songs were social examinations
and thought provoking lyrics on life, love, and the world around.
Swamburger and Alexandrah are two very talented artists that currently
record with the band Sol.Illaquists of Sound. Known to his mom as
Asaan Harazshi Brooks, Swamburger was born and raised in Chicago,
before relocating to Orlando. He quickly became an integral member of
the 8th Dimension family, working with DJ BMF. Together they released
"S.W.A.M. (Survival With A Mind)", which was licensed for inclusion on
Urb Magazine's 2000 CD compilation. The success of their debut
collaboration led to "Steel Contraption" and "Prepare", which appeared
on DJ Spinna's "Beat Suite" Mix CD.
Alexandra E. Sarton, otherwise known as Alexandrah, brings powerful
vocals to Sol.Illaquists of Sound. Originating from Chicago, Illinois,
she graduated from Columbia College with a B.A. in Film/Video
Directing and Editing. In Chicago she also founded the multi-media
marketing and design group called NuGroup, which was created to
motivate the practitioners of the arts. It was during her time at
Columbia that Alexandrah began collaborating with Swamburger and Beef
Wellington in Orlando, FL. A long string of events eventually led her
to Orlando where she became part of Sol.Illaquists of Sound.
